The sign is in the form of a heraldic shield. There's a convex board on the perimeter. At the top of the panel, the inscription "OLONET" is on the Auvers. Below is the historical coat of arms of the city of Olonets. "In the golden field, the hand of the cloud, holding the blue shield, and the four apples on the chain," (a description of 16 August 1781).
