A rectangular shape, silver-colored metal, with a map of Lake Baikal, covered with blue enamel. In the upper left part of the icon the silver relief image of the wind rose. In the lower right part of the icon is a red circle with a silver dot, below it a silver embankled "Ulan-Ude". On the right side of the badge is a vertical inscription of silver relief: "Buryat ASSR"; "Lake Baikal", "Lake Baikal".
